I am a wife and mother of three wonderful children. My passion is to spread love through yoga. I have had the privilege to teach many places in the Kansas City metro area. Yoga Instructor

In 2015 Karen committed herself to a year of continued health and learning. In 2016, she proudly graduated from Darling Yoga as a 200-RYT. She is now very inspired to help others nurture their own mind, body and spirit as they discover the health benefits through a playful, light hearted practice using Hatha Yoga. Karen focuses on alignment, stretch and breath work building stamina, strength and confidence. She loves and cares for each of her students with a grateful open heart through an active and gentle approach.

Remember, as long as you are breathing anything is possible.

Yoga Instructor

Valerie's yoga journey started about 20 years ago after she found the benefits of mindfulness and meditation through the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and Lama Surya Das some 10 years earlier. In 2010, she was diagnosed with end stage breast cancer causing her to look deeper into Eastern healing modalities.  She became a Reiki Master in 2015 and then a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2016.  Her teaching style combines the therapeutic use of yoga with her many years spent in the mental health field.

---We see what we are ready to see.

Yoga Instructor

AJ began his career as a yoga teacher in 2015 when he finished his first 200 hour yoga teacher training with Yoga For Life in Portland, Oregon. Teacher training for him was about deepening his personal yoga practice. He started working part time as a yoga teacher, while working his main job in a stressful sales career at a fortune 50 company. He has done many more trainings from there, totaling about 1,000 hours. AJ’s personal yoga practice has changed and redefined many times since he started practicing in 2005. He started watching DVD sequences, and then started branching out into studio classes. He has studied and practiced many of the more common styles including Hatha, Yin, Power Vinyasa, Ashtanga. AJ’s has also been fortunate enough to practice a lot of different places including New York City, The US Virgin Islands, and Nepal.

Yoga Instructor

My first experience with Buti Yoga was in Kirksville, MO at my favorite little yoga studio in 2015. The music was loud, we laughed, we sweated, and I fell in love! Since then I became integrated into the Buti Yoga network in Kansas City where I became certified to teach Buti Yoga in 2017. I have taught ever since, and I feel that I always meet the most wonderful women (and men) through Buti.
It is my goal in each Buti Yoga class to challenge you, to encourage you, and to get to know you.

There is always something Emmie wants to try, do, see, or share. It may be a great idea or it might be an incredibly terrible idea, either way she will probably still want to at least try it once.

Opening The Retreat was one of these big adventures that has so far turned out to be one of the best things she ever did. The ability to make people feel good about themselves every day in a variety of ways makes every day exciting for her.

Emmie loves spending time with family, cooking and going on adventures with her husband and kids.
